Fisker & Co — developer of sitting solutions (The Netherlands) Fisker & Co deals with designing and producing of furniture for sitting, using the most ecologically neutral methods of manufacture and storing.
  


We are glad to introduce our company called Fisker & Co. If we decipher the name, we find out that Fisker stands for design by Rene Visser (unless mentioned otherwise), and Co is everyone connected, that is, the people we work with and who support us. Our company is engaged into creating of various sitting solutions, namely sitting furniture for urban space & the one for indoors and outdoors.

When designing we are aware of the fact that we have to share all the energy and materials. We try to stay close to the material itself and we do try to take care of the environment. For example, if we are thinking in wood for instance, we think we have to prevent transports if they are not strictly necessary. In this way a lot of energy can be saved.

The wood we use is coming from our surroundings and has grown in the ecological well-balanced way. If we think of the world of tomorrow we should not preserve wood by using toxic chemicals. Thus, the very old method of keeping wood in water for some period of time and drying it in the wind is still the very sympathetic and the most useful one.

As far as the finishing is concerned, painting is the option to be considered. If we decide to finish the product, we use the one without heavy metals and other dangerous components, only natural paints and oils are available.
